Homer's Diary about Odysseus's journey
This is me Homer. I will be telling the story of Odysseus and how he reached his home to Ithaca. He sacrifices so much during his journey to home. The gods and goddess are always on his side. Especially Athena, who helps him all the time showing where he should go and he shouldn't go. Odysseus escapes from Calypso in support of Zeus, the god of thunderclaps, who sends Hermes, Zeus's messenger to free Odysseus. On the other side, Penelope is waiting for him forever. When he reaches Ithica as a beggar, he and Telemachus will plan to kill all the suitors.
The bright-eyed,Athena disguised Odysseus as a beggar. He waits at the swineherd's hut for his son, Telemachus, who's in Sparta. They both meet very emotionally. Athena tells Telemachus to go back to his land to take care of his mother, Penelope. She is happy seeing her son returned alive. Meanwhile, Telemachus orders Eumaios to bring the beggar at his Palace. Both Eumaios and "the beggar" Odysseus head into town. At his palace, he begs for food and the suitors treat him very badly. But still as a beggar he controls himself. Telemachus and Odysseus plans to kill all the suitors together. Penelope throws a party on stringing a bow at the twelve axes head. She says a person who strings the bow on the 12 axes' head will marry her. As you all know all the suitors fail to string. Odysseus comes and successfully stricken at the 12 axes' head. Together both father and son kill every suitors. Man of action, Odysseus goes to Penelope. He tells Penelope that he is back. Yeah, Odysseus is back. Finally he makes his love with his wife and the gods/goddess make their night longer, so that Odysseus and Penelope can spend their night together longer.
I chose to write from Homer's perspective, because I've done Odysseus and Telemachus's perspectives for my last two projects. My audience is everyone is who reads this project. Through the process, I learned how authors like Homer, think when they write storys about other characters. This is my first time using Prezi. I chose to work on Prezi, because my sister uses it for her classes. It is not that hard for me to use Prezi, because it's just like power point. I enjoyed using this tool and it was a new experience.
The whole process was to complete this project without any problems, because using new tools were very challenging. I would suggest others to use Prezi whom forget to save their projects, because Prezi saves everything automatically. I would advice others to first organize their projects, because sometimes we lose track of what we are doing.
Some of the themes are hospitality, loyalty, disguise and recognition, and fate. Also patience, because Penelope, Odysseus's wife waited for him too long. Disguise and recognition, because Athena disguised Odysseus as a beggar to reach his home to Ithaca. Recognition, because Argos, his dog recognized Odysseus when he came to town with the swineherd, Eumaios. Also, the suitors didn't have that much of sense of humor to anyone. All the suitors, especially Antinous, treated the beggars unfairly.
