Bad Things

Good Things

I couldn't find many bad things as I really enjoyed it. It was quite a dark production that was loud but that is the nature of the musical.

The only other thing was that being such a good show, I wanted to be on stage with them!

I thought that the costumes were very good in this. I think that this is because they managed to make it look professional by just the items of clothing out of peoples wardrobes. The chorus were wear very brightly coloured clothing which helped to brighten it up. There were some scenes that really stood out for me such as the Crucifixion as the use of music, lighting and fake blood really dramatized it and made it an emotive scene. Another scene that really stood out was the scene with Herods solo. I found this very funny and fun as this involved some teachers including deputy head Mr Jarret

Jesus Christ Superstar Review

My Overall Thoughts...

For this part of my Arts Award I decided to go and watch my schools production of Jesus Christ Superstar. This was directed and produced by Mrs Todd-Jones. It was performed over three nights and I went to the last night. The cast included pupils from all years as well as staff that works in the school.

I really enjoyed this production of Jesus Christ Superstar because it was inspiring to watch and everyone got involved. I was different from my expectations because for a school production it was extremely well put together and due to the talent of both the teachers and pupils they made it look very professional. I think the cast was well chosen to their character. It has really inspired me to want to be in what ever they do next. I would recommend future Henry Box Productions as it was very good.

Plot

Jesus Christ Superstar is a musical written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. It's the story of the last 7 days of Jesus' life on eath before crucifixion. Through this play Jesus is classed a 'superstar' as he tries to encourage his supporters to rebel against the high priests. All his disciples are very keen to learn from him and spread the word. However, Judas, one of the disciples, is concerned that Jesus is beginning to become a bit full of himself. In this play we see the struggles and support that Jesus has through his last week and his eventual crucifixion.
