When Drake sips the Sprite in the commercial, he goes through what looks like an amazing sensation where his whole body starts to shake and vibrate, which ends in a rush of energy. Not only this sensation, but Drake drinking the soda, was enough to attract the audience to buy Sprite’s product. Sprite is trying to advertise that Sprite will make you feel good and energized. They are both fueling and demonstrating the problem of consumerism in today’s world.

The ethos is how Drake can draw the attention of everyone because of how credible he is and how common his name is known. Drake is known all over the world. The pathos is when Drake drinks the Sprite and experiences a change in his body and starts to feel good. This makes the audience think that they need to buy this drink. The commercial makes people think that if they drink Sprite, they can be like them.

The main claim gathered from this advertisement is that people will buy a product if it is advertised by their favorite musicians or celebrities. Sprite does a good job of using celebrities for their advertisements. This is a popular method that most big companies do. During the time of this commercial, Drake was very big, arguably bigger than he is now, which was a great move for Sprite.

In the commercial, Drake is seen in the studio recording a song. He isn’t feeling too good so he decides to take a drink of Sprite. His whole body starts jumping and going through a change which results in him feeling good. After that, he started to record one of his famous songs, “Forever.”

There was a logical fallacy found in this video, which is band wagoning. People will want to buy

a Sprite because of the hype around Drake and his commercial. It is shown that if Sprite shows Drake drinking their product, people will want to buy that product to be like Drake. Celebrities have a huge influence on what people do nowadays. Everyone wants to be like their favorite celebrities from what they wear, drive, where they live, what they eat, etc. They influence our decisions whether we believe it or not.

Advertisements are one of the biggest forms of consumerism. Popular musicians and artists such as Drake, draw the attention of the people who will want to buy Sprite’s product.

I chose to use the Sprite Spark commercial with Drake. In the advertisement for Sprite, they use popular rapper, Drake, to convince the audience to buy their product.

This video shows a great demonstration of ethos and pathos. It is also a great example of consumerism.
