the website presents the star image of the artists conventionally to the synthwave genre to a degree. firstly the use of the cyber grid in the background, ever present logo and dark colours used on everything but the text makes it clear that the star image of neon-eagles is electronic and the organic/synthetic music hybrid synthwave is because other synthwave websites like GUNSHIP and kavisky use the same imagery and text style to produce the synthwave star image making the star image representation conventional. secondly the use of reoccurring imagery is conventional as synthwave, electronic and even some other genre artists like AC/DC use reoccurring imagery to help identify the artist which is done on the website with the neon eagle logo meaning that the website is conventional to the synthwave and electronic music genre by using reoccurring imagery..on the other hand however the use of a photo gallery showing off the artists and video clips of the artists being interviewed subverts the main convention of synthwave as these put focus on the artist and not the music which breaks the main rule of synthwave that is to promote the product not the artist. the website does demonstrate star image conventionally by having an aesthetic look that is similar to other synthwave artists websites while taking a sledgehammer to the conventionality of the site because the artists are promoted in someplace instead of the music.

layout/content

the layout for the website overall consists of a tab bar at the top of the screen with the name of the artists underneath, with only necessary information appearing in the center of the screen with scrolling only being required if a large amount of information/words are used on a tab page. this tab browsing orientated layout is conventional as synthwave artists like GUNSHIP also use the tab oriented system to put an emphasis on information in the centre of the screen to adhere to the synthwave genre cross media rule of focusing on the end product which in this case is the music and not the creator/artist. further more tabs to pages to "home", "shop" , "gallery" , "video", "events/gigs" and "contact" are used on the neon-eagles website whilst they are staples of most music artist websites beyond just the synthwave and electronic music genres with gunship, daft punk and Taylor swift having tabs to pages with similar content.

Design

the first noticeable part about the design in the use of the purple grid in the background for all tab pages, this is conventional to synthwave as the grid is a common piece of imagery used in synthwave to represent technology and to an extent the synthwave genre itself with it appearing on all sorts of synthwave products such as album covers and video games. further more the purple colour of the grid is conventional as purple is the most common colour in synthwave and the grid takes up a large amount of the background always being present. the use of the neon-eagle logo is also conventional as it is a reoccurring image of the artists which appears on the website, digi-pak and music video is similar to other synthwave artists like carpenter brut who also have reoccurring imagery. lastly the overall dark lighting/ colours used on the website do not subvert conventions of synthwave as the dark lighting and colours help enforce the synthwave nightlife premise which is done for every synthwave product.

conclusion

the website is conventional to the synthwave genre as its primary purpose is not to sell artist and instead to sell the artists products such as their music, live events and merchandise. this is done via the fact that the majority of the website like other synthwave artists doesn't show any imagery of the artists unless one goes to the gallery page. further more like other synthwave websites instead of images of the artists there is artwork related to the synthwave genre. this overall means that the website conventionally sells the artist to the synthwave audience as the website is similar to other syntwave websites small amount of genre convention subversion with the gallery page.
