How did the industrial revolution affect World War 1

The effects of the Industrial Revolution on World War 1 were the ability to manufacture bigger and better weapons in World War 1 such as weapons including machine guns, artillery, planes and tanks which improved .Chemical technology was also improved such as the use of various types of gas .

How did the Industrial Revolution affect Australia

  • Trading raw materials within the British empire
  • Earned the reputation for having the finest wool in the world.
  • Became one of the largest wool exporters
  • First railway was opened in Australia in 1854.
  • Australian Industry expanded, leading to the need for more workers
  • new infrasuctures such as railways, roads and government building had to be made

What were the working conditions during the Industrial Revolution

  • Working hours could be anywhere from 12 to 16 hours long
  • Safely rules were non-existent
  • Their pay was barely enough to support their families
  • Children were also employed to work
  • Boys as young as five were used to open and close mine shaft doors

  • diseases spread rapidly because of lack of hygiene.
  • human and animal wastes accumulated on mud floors causing diseases such as typhus and cholera
