Mission Statement
My name is Christian Jones. I am from the We’re Kids, Lookout! Organization. I am the Co-Founder and Vice President with Rakalia Noble. We are reaching out to you because we want our ad campaign to be known by everyone . Our ad campaign is about pedestrian safety, specifically focusing on children and teenagers being hit by vehicles while walking across the street. People these days are more focused on texting and driving as opposed to the safety of pedestrians.
The purpose of our ad campaign is to bring awareness to pedestrians and making sure they are in good hands. We want people to understand that instead of trying to get somewhere in a hurry, they must stop, think about their surroundings, and focus on what is in front of them. I want the reckless ignorant drivers to care and have more empathy for the innocent pedestrians. I want them to understand that pedestrians are equally important and drivers have the responsibility of looking out.
Slogans: "Even when the light is green, look out for those crossing the street.”
"Please look out for me, I still want to live…”
Motivation:One specific young lady by the name of Kurtajsha Sykes, a close friend of mine, lost her life on October 30, 2014 because of a driver not paying attention.
In the next 24 hours, 445 pedestrians will either be killed or injured due to car related reasons. 4,743 people were killed in 2012 due to car– pedestrian feuds. People at all ages are at risk of injury or death of car crashes more people are at higher risk. Males are more likely to die or get injured in a motor vehicle crash than a female. About 14% of deaths are caused by car- pedestrian fatalities.
Drivers should be paying attention at all times.
Pedestrians should also be paying attention, not making the driver the only blame.
Texting while driving is a problem that affects lives, and it must stop.
Pedestrians look BOTH WAYS while walking across the street.
