  • third person: narrator not a character
  • omniscient or unlimited: has access to internal/experiences of character
  • limited/central consciousness: external, third-person narrator telling story from distinct point of view, usually of a single character
  • objective narrator: does not report internals of character but may suggest them through speech and actions
