EWS does not support following outcomes from OTR at the moment

1. A customer can get deliveries by different trucks on same day on different weeks.

Eg: Customer X scheduled to get a delivery by Truck 1 on Monday week 1 and truck 2 on Monday week 2. EWS does not support this

2. A customer can get deliveries on different days on different weeks due to day flexibility.

Eg: Customer X scheduled to get a delivery on Monday week 1 and Tuesday week 3. EWS does not support this

OUTCOME

Ortec Tactical Routing(OTR) implementation

to EWS

Reduce transport cost by having efficient scheduling

OTR process (This will be done in OTR system)

Main outputs from OTR

  • New Delivery day

  • New Delivery week

  • New Delivery route

  • New Delivery sequence

  • New Shift start depot

  • New Shift end depot

How to overcome EWS limitation in short run

It is recommended to run data by each month to capture seasonalities and most efficient scheduling parameters.

Implementing business rules to OTR

  • Eliminate customers changing from days and routes in OTR optimisation environment will address the problem temporarily. But this might trigger Km and hours to increase compared against open to any truck or day scenario.

OTR master data locations

Full master data file from OTR will be saved on a central location which will be accessed by authored people such as schedulers and Ops managers etc.

This is the back up file to compare planned Vs actual.

How to update OTR output details on EWS

This will be done mainly through the "Mass update" function in EWS. Also "HR" screen will be used to update some output data.

Columns and Rows on OTR output files will be customized to line up with EWS mass update requirements.
