The impacts of human activities and technologies

- Since Europeans first began to arrive, 40% of the trees remain due to logging.

- Major threats include logging, plantation development, and the replacement of native tree species with fast growing and more profitable species.

Since Chile is considered to be a developed country, funding from international community for NGO for conservation and protection of the forests and ecosystems is difficult to acquire for the Valdivian Temperate Rainforest.

Abiotic factors include:

Water, Temperature, Wind, Soil, Rocks and Topography.
