Art

Things such as llamas, plants, the San Pedro cactus flowers, and so on is what's found in the art of Wari. They express their art by illustrated things very important or valuable to them.

Food

The people of Wari were like the Inca and other civilizations; used to growing and farm crops such as were quinoa, potatoes, and maize.

The Wari were influenced by other cultures for example, appropriating the Chavin Staff deity. A god that had alot to with the sun, rain, and maize.

Huari Structure

Breif Background On Civilization

Huari first settled around 250 AD. and soon populated to as much as 70,000 people. Physical features are shown such as Andean architecture: very packed &' enclosed walls, made up of rectangular shaped mud mortar stones.

Pikillacta

Pikillacta was founded in 650 CE. This site was built in a rectangular form and if viewed from above, Just like other Wari sites, to be able to get in would be difficult because it was strictly controlled.

The Wari civilization lived around 450-1000 AD. They settled in the coastal/highland areas of ancient Peru. Their capital was Huari, and they were smart enough to use the landscapes around them to build an empire. The way they were able to maintain and keep the empire going later affected the Inca Civilization.

Location

Wari was located 11 km (6.8 miles) north-east of the modern city of Ayacucho, Peru. This city in the center of Peru, and covered much land.
