When all the water is removed the food enters the abomasum. The abomasum is were gastric juices are added.

The camparison of the two digestive system is that the monogastric has one stomach department and ruminant has multiple stomach departments. Ruminant systems can digest food such as grasses. Monogastric system have to eat food high in nutrients and not food high in fiber.
Middle of Ruminant
When the cud has been chewed it enters the reticulum were muscles and bacteria continues to break the food down. The food then enters the omasum were all the water is removed.

Digestion is the breaking down of food for energy and nutrients. There are two different types.

A monogastric system has a simple stomach that carries the ingested food to the small intestine where the nutrients go to the body.

A ruminant system has multiple stomach departments. Foods goes to the rumen were it is all stored. Bacteria breaks it down. The food is forced up the throat were the animal chews it some more.
