CHICKENPOX CHAIN OF INFECTION

Information on the number of outbreaks that occur each year are limited but because of the vaccine the number of out breaks have gone down.

It is common for chicken pox outbreaks to occur in areas such as schools.

Recently a 4-year-old girl with leukemia died from chickenpox. People with compromised immune systems have a greater risk of severe complications from chickenpox and may not be able to get the chickenpox vaccine.
