#1 : Teacher

Become

Teachers need to take time to learn about the kids so they understand them and their strengths. Teachers need to be organized to keep track of homework, projects, lessons, and how everyone is doing in their subjects. Teachers need to show up to work every day and be reliable, if the students see substitutes more than their main teacher that's a problem. A helpful teacher is better than an unhelpful one for sure. Most teachers need to be fun and find a way to involve their kids in lessons, maybe by going on field trips or doing experiments. Teachers need to be fair and respect kids, they are, after all, just kids. They also need to spend time learning what the kids learn and outside of school, they need to have a great comprehension of what they're trying to teach! Teaching varies immensely, from college to preschool to tutoring. Other specific skills are found in types of teaching, but all of them apply to these ideas.

Teachers need a bachelor's degree in education, french immersion teachers should take a french teaching program on top of that. Both of these are offered at SFU, which may be where I go to become a teacher someday! The cost would be $28 600 and it would take five

years.

Careers for an ENFP

(Such as myself)

As with all forms of art, creativity is important. Imagination is important as well, visualizing or imagining your story will help it take shape. Of course, great language skills are appreciated, as well as editing skills. Nobody enjoys a book full of mistakes. Writing in a descriptive way also helps get the reader into the story by giving them an idea of what the scene is like, feels like or looks like. Writers need commitment and determination to finish their work, not to abandon it after a few chapters... Unless they really don't like how it's turning out. Most of the time, authors should follow through with what they start. Authors should be able to take inspiration without copying, their ideas should be unique. Authors are artists, so they need similar skills.

Because writing is an art, no degree is required, but a degree in the English language may be very useful. Those degrees are available at many universities, including UVic. Similar to the BFA, it would cost $20 000 for 4 years.

#3 : Marine Biologist

ENFP Attributes

Curiosity is key for any kind of scientist or biologist. If you want answers, you should start asking questions! They would also need to be gentile and the need to put care towards the marine life they are dealing with. Some animals are scared in these interactions, so the more gentle the biologists are, the safer the animals will feel. I'd need to be observant as a marine biologist, I couldn't miss signs of infection and put the animal or fish at risk, and to learn about them in general. Being precise is important, mixing up measurements of food or neglecting to be exact while working in a laboratory could have bad results. Overall, organizational skills are important to a successful marine biologist.

Marine biologists need bachelor degrees or master degrees in either marine ecology, marine biology, aquarium sciences and others, depending on the job. I could do lots of these at UBC.

It would be 4 or more years, the first 4 would cost $20 000.

With that in mind, let's take a look at my 5 career choices!

What is an ENFP?

#4 : Artist

Artists should be detail-oriented, most paintings have lots of little details that it wouldn't look nearly as interesting without. Observant artists do well because they can pick up inspiration almost anywhere! Artists need lots of patience, because things like sculptures and paintings take a long time to complete. Artwork that's been well cared for and completed is much nicer than rushed artwork or incomplete artwork. Creativity is essential to all ideas for masterpieces. Good artist come up with cool ideas like showing a landscape from a different angle using their creative skills, and the difference really shows! The final skill I think is vital is being bold, unafraid to try new things.

Acting is a form of art, and both require no degree. The Emily Carr University provides art programs to help anyone start off, or a degree in art and design. I think art sort of teaches itself. I could

also get a BFA, again 4 years and $20 000 total.

Have you ever heard of the JUNG personality types? After you take the test, you receive a four letter combination. There are 16 possible results. Each letter represents which you are: E/I = Extroverted or Introverted, S/N = Sensing or iNtuitive, F/T = Feeling or Thinking and J/P = Judging or Perceiving. What's the point of that? It's pretty interesting- If you know your personality type, there are websites and books about how to handle stressful situations, deal with friendship problems and other information and advice like what goals are relevant to you... Like a zodiac sign, but based on a quiz, not what day you're born on. Because of how I answered, I am an ENFP. (Etraverted, iNtuitive, Feeling, Perceiving.) The careers suggested for them were great, but I will only be presenting my top 5.

#5 : Actress

It's true, acting is sometimes over-dramatic, but if you aren't dramatic, people may not understand what emotion you are trying to convey. They need to be able to demonstrate multiple emotions, not only happy, sad and angry. What about confused, or maybe suspicious? Acting means being confident and not letting a little nervousness take away from the performance. Actors ad actresses need to have a good memory, more importantly, the time and patience to read and practice the script. Even if they don't follow the exact words, if they know the script, they'll be able to improvise well. Acting requires effort, you won't usually get the first role you try out for. It's a tricky business, so acting means putting the roles you don't get behind you and trying out for something else.

Acting doesn't require a degree, but a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts at UBC would definitely help with getting a part in something. This would take 4 years and cost around $20 000 total.
