Conclusion

All in all, Obama was a very popular president who helped to solve some major issues including the War on Terror, Healthcare, and the Iran Nuclear Deal. He was the first African-American president and helped pave the path for a better American future.

Difficulties

The War on Terror

Obama's main struggle in being president, aside from all the responsibility and important decisions he had to make, was his race. People were constantly questioning his eligibility to be president since only citizens born in American could become president. He helped, however, to show that his race was not a hindrance at all and that anyone can be a great president.

Iran Nuclear Deal

Obamacare

In order to maintain the safety of the world, the UN made the Iran Nuclear Deal to ensure that Iran kept its nuclear facilities in check. The following was what the deal required:"Iran would redesign, convert, and reduce its nuclear facilities and accept the Additional Protocol" Obama was for the idea and wanted to strengthen the bonds between the United States and Iran. He was greatly admired for this and was one of his main accomplishments.

Obama addressed the war on terror by saying that the country is completely equipped to handle a terrorist situation. He claimed that freedom was more powerful than fear. He also said that the terrorists were trying to poison the minds of the free and that feeling afraid is exactly what they want you to feel. He also was for the gun control security saying that anyone suspected of terrorism should not be allowed to purchase a semi-automatic weapon. In his address, he states, "As a father to two young daughters who are the most precious part of my life, I know that we see ourselves with friends and co-workers at a holiday party like the one in San Bernardino. I know we see our kids in the faces of the young people killed in Paris.” This quote also goes to show Obama's empathy. While he knew that being afraid of terrorism is natural and to be expected, he urged people to stay calm, and that freedom is greater than fear.

Obamacare was a program made by the Obama administration to improve healthcare in the United States. Obama aimed to make health care more affordable and effective. "ObamaCare (the Affordable Care Act) is a US healthcare reform law that expands and improves access to care and curbs spending through regulations and taxes." Obamacare had a net gain in insured people of about 16.9 million people. The subject of the ACA is currently being debated as the Trump administration isn't sure what to do with it.
