In a fairy tale there are made up things such as dragons or fairies. There are lots of fairy tales like Cinderella or other princess stories. No ofense to other kind of folktales, but fairy tales are my favorite. They are my favorite because I like fiction. Good and evil. There is royalty.
Fables have a moral. The main characters are usually animals who act like people.

Another word for folktale is folklore. A folktale is made of fairy tales, fables and trickster tales. They are also myths too. They have a good and a evil character. They always have a happy ending.
Myths are things that someone tells you that aren't true. The Lochness monster is a myth. The goddesses are myths too.
In a trickster tale a person usually gets tricked and for a reason too. Maybe they'll be bragging or wanting to eat something or somebody. Like in Brer Rabbit. Trickster Tales teach a lesson. The people are clever or mean in the person that is getting tricked case.
