In 1949, there were twelve members. Today, NATO's members are twenty-eight. NATO's HQ is located in Brussels, Belgium, who is a member of this organisation.
The original twelve include: Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, The UK, and The US.
