Montessori published her first book "The Montessori Method" in English.

On March 10th, Montessori had a son, Mario Montessori, out of wedlock. Unwilling to marry this caused her to leave the country and reunite with Mario 13 years later.

Italy shut down all Montessori programs

On May 6th, Montessori died at 81 years old

"Casa dei Bambini" was opened where Montessori managed 50+ children ranging 2-7yo. Here she practiced and refined her theories.

The United States, desperate for a social reform, received their first tour from Dr.Montessori and was transformed by her method.

From this period on, Montessori and her son experienced conflict from the Italian government and were put under harsh surveillance.

Spain sponsored its first Montessori program

Montessori graduated with her Doctoral in Medicine. She was the first women in Italy to do so.
