Respiration

Respiration is when glucose and oxygen are broken down into water, oxygen and energy. The energy is released from the glucose. The water and oxygen both are released since they are waste products.

Photosynthesis

During phtotsynthesis the reactants (carbon dioxide, water and light energy) combine to make glucose and oxygen. During photosynthesis, energy is stored in the glucose molecules. The products created at the end of photosynthesis are glucose and oxygen (a waste product). After photosynthesis is over, the oxygen molecules leaved the stoma and go into the air. The glucose leaves the leaf through the phloem tissue.

Light energy is absorbed by the chloroplast in the palisade cells.

Carbon dioxide- CO2

The Spongy tissue will hold the Carbon dioxide, until it is ready to go into the palisade cells where photosynthesis will happen

Carbon dioxide enters through the stoma on the underside of the leaf.

Carbon dioxide Molecule

2 Oxygen Atom and 1 Carbon dioxide Atom

Water

The water is stored in the spongy tissue until it goes into the palisade cells, to perform photosynthesis

Oxygen

Oxygen is made up of 2 oxygen molecules. Oxygen is brought to the mitochondria through the blood stream.

Xylem

The water from the roots travels through the xylem and stored in the spongy tissue.

Glucose

Glucose is made up of 6 oxygen atoms, 12 hydrogen atoms and 6 carbon dioxide atoms. Glucose arrives in the mitochondria by traveling through the blood stream.
