With the formula of SO2, sulfur dioxide is a chemical compound. It is a toxic gas with a unpleasant smell,that is released by volcanoes and many man-made industries that burn sulfur in the air.

When in too much contact with sulfur dioxide,it can harm the outer-skin tissues of humans. It also makes breathing difficult that needs medical attention daily. People who work in power plants or live near one that deals with sulfur dioxide will experience more serious long-term health problems, such as asthma, chronic bronchitis, lung disease, or emphysema.
