The Solution

Zara

Globalization

We have to stop this. There are solutions to this and usually it is good to just confront the company. I have specially picked Zara because not only did they get caught for this, twice, but they were made to fully consolidate all their workers and pay an overall fee of over 350,000 Pounds. When children the ages of 13 sit in the same place for over 12 overs only to get payed around 100 Pounds a month we have to do something and when we make the company realize this they will also have to do something like what Zara had to do. This is especially good for the workers because this will make them more loyal and want to actually work. We say we are all equal, let us make sure that ALL of us get treated equally as well.

Zara and it's Workers

Zara may make some amazing and I'm sure that you guys own some Zara clothes or jewelry, but did you know that Zara and it's factories have been fully investigated and then by officials been accused of treating their workers really badly. There main factories are in Argentina. Mostly Bolivian laborers, including children, were made to work up to 16-hour days without breaks and were prevented from leaving the factories without permission, according to investigators. These people work in sweatshops from 7am to 11pm without break. An investigator said: ‘Their workplaces were also their homes, families were forced to share cramped quarters in a mess of sewing machines, needles, threads and children. The places were dark without proper lighting to sew and no ventilation'. These people almost live in the places that they work in.

Zara is a popular TNC as I'm sure you all know. There are a total of 1808 Zara stores and Zara has opened up to over 80 countries in the world. Zara is originally a spanish company and is known for making good quality clothes.

Zara's main headquarters are in Spain and Zara has made a total revenue wealth of 7.071 billion euro's and that was only of 2009.

Globalization

Globalization the act or process of globalizing : the state of being globalized; especially : the development of an increasingly integrated global economy marked especially by free trade, free flow of capital, and the tapping of cheaper foreign labor markets (definition by Merriam Webster dictionary).

My definition: To make something global or worldwide in scope or application.
