This was the night that Hitler decided that enough was enough when it came to Ernst Rohm and the SA. He had grown tired of their drunken stupors that would leave innocent people beaten up and robbed. On top of that, Rohm was preaching for Germany to continue their revolution, becomming more and more of a threat to Hitler and all that he had built.

In one night, he gathered high officials in the SA and arrested them and either sent them to concentration camps, or had them shot uncerimoniously. Along with taking out members of a rebellious paramilitary group, Hitler and his underlings used this opportunity to take out old rivals and settle old scores. Nazi propoganda labeled the executions of these people as punishment for conspiracy to further revolutionize against the Nazis.

Hitler and his followers staged a failed takeover of the Bavarian government in Southern Germany. This coup was staged by about two thousand men marching to the center of Munich, where they confronted Police, which resulted in the death of 16 Nazis and four plicement. This was important because this was just the start of Hitlers actions to take a hold of government power for his own good.

Hitler, and other leading officials and conspirators that led to the Beer Hall Putsch, were sentenced to 5 years in prision. There is some conspiracy that they were lenient with Hitler and the other leaders, for treason , and the murder of the 4 policemen, is a crime punishable by death during that time.

During this time, there were a number of people that were coming and going in the position of the Chancellor of the Reich. First it was Von Papen, then Schliecher, and when Papen got him out, Hitler took soul power of the Reich, which was his plan all along. This, combined with and alliance that he shared with Papen (who's supporters now had the majority of the Reich after a dip in Nazi votes), Hitler now had his eyes set on ultimate control over Germany.

This is a significant date because this is when Hitler finally gets into a high position of power in Germany. Before that, he was just the leader of the largest party, couldn't get much done from that postition. But now, his powers range considerably larger with this new position.

This is arguably one of the most important dates in not just Nazi German history, but also this history of the world. On this day, Hitler and Nazi Germany invaded Poland using Blitzkrieg tactics. Although Poland did try to defend itself, it did not take long for Germany to capture Poland. What makes this day especially important is the fact that this is the act that gets Great Britain and France into war against Germany. Although, it does take them a couple days afterward to formally declare.

This act is the act that sends the entire continent of Europe into an era of war that dwarfs most of the other wars that Europe has seen, other than WWI. WWII was an especially dark time in Human history, with the death tolls numbering in the tens of millions, and thats not including the effects of the holocaust.

This day if very significant in the history of Nazi Germany. On the day that President Hindenburg died, that gave the opportunity for Hitler to combine that position to the position that he currently carried, the Chancellor of the Reich. This made him the lone head of the government, and no one could stop him from doing what he wanted. Before this date, there was always looming danger that Hindenburg could stop Hitler from doing the things that he wanted to get done. This made it so that that danger couldn't ever stop him again.

By Creating this position, Hitler could them move on with his plan to Nazify the rest of Germany through force and the use of the Germany Government. He fortifies his army and eventually brings Germany waist deep in war by the 1940's.
