Do Now: With your groupmates, discuss and determine which Boolean operations are shown in each picture.

Unit 3: Designing from Images

Learning Objective: You will be able to create an intersection of primitives in TinkerCAD.

Essential Question: What workflow can we incorporate into our design toolkit that will allow us to create intersections when modeling with solids?

Due Today: A TinkerCAD file containing at least three intersections.

Design Challenge 3:

Intersections!

  • With your partner, start a new design in TinkerCAD, make public, and change the name to <First name> and <First Name> Intersections .
  • Your submission should include the following three things

1. A die - Use the intersection process you just observed to create a die.

2. A bolt - Use the same workflow to create a bolt.

3. Make up your own object using the intersection workflow! Show the original pieces you intersected alongside your design.

  • Submit your intersection using the online form. Both partners must submit for both of you to get credit.
  • If you have extra time, complete your die by giving it numbers. The best design will be printed!
