How Energy Flows Through Food Chains and Energy Pyramids

All energy originates from the sun in all food chains. Only about 10% of the prey's energy is transferred to the predator when the prey is attacked. For example, if you look at an energy pyramid, you can see that each part gets smaller as you go up the pyramid. Another example would be that as you go up an energy pyramid, the predator gets less and less energy from its prey.
