Which students require an ICP?

Whether or not to provide a different year level curriculum?

Take into account:

  • Can the student meet year level standard through more differentiated instruction or intensive teaching?
  • previous intensive teaching and progress made
  • student’s particular circumstances
  • student history. How long have they not been meeting year level standard?

Students:

  • with learning difficulties

  • identified with a disability in accordance with the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA)

What is an ICP?

  • who are gifted and talented.

An ICP can apply to a complete single learning area, or to the whole curriculum.

An Individual Curriculum Plan (ICP) is used to record curriculum decisions for students who are taught and assessed in a higher or lower year level of the Australian Curriculum than their age cohort for a whole Learning Area, or for all Learning Areas and Subjects
