El Baca
He's a diabolical creature whom people conjure up to get wealth and prosperity. Baca can take form of a black cat, a dog, bull or other animal.Once conjured, he wants sacrifices. If lucky he may just take some of your fortune. If unlucky, he may cause your family members to catch illnesses, die mysterious deaths or commit suicide.
Los Biembens
These beings are located in the mountains of Baharuco, Dominican Republic.Africans and Indians slaves ran from their slave owners. After hiding, they transformed into some wild beings. The only sound they make are grunt like sounds. They travel and attack alone or in groups.They eat humans or use them as sacrifices.
Ciguapa
She is a magical being,
beautiful to some, terrifying to others.She seduces men, kissing them passionately, sucking their life breath from their body. She is mischievous. For example, she steals raw meat and butter from homes. Never look her in the eyes. She will bewitch you and you will be under her power sinking in an ecstasy of love disappearing forever.

El Cuco is a mythical monster whose origins can be traced from Spain. He is used as a fright tool to keep children off the streets late at night and make them go to sleep.
In this presentation, I will share with you facts about various stories and creatures that are discussed in the country; Dominican Republic. Dominican culture is replete with myths and beliefs that enrich the identity of its people. Let's learn about some of the interesting stories and creatures!
These mythical beings are similar to elves, gnomes, or goblins. These creatures like to play jokes on people.They can be heard running through the night laughing or giggling loudly. They'd drop stones on porches just to annoy. They are the size of a small boy. They are known to take children that aren't baptized.(usually boys) They will turn the child into one of them.
He roams the Republican streets kidnapping children placing them in a sack. He hides under a bed or in a closet. Many parents tell their children if tey don't sleep He will get them.
