Taronga Zoo improvements

Taronga Zoo was originally made to show of animal exhibits and giving people that experience but Taronga Zoo has change a lot in what they do including education and wildlife sustainability. Taronga went to a wildlife foundation that is also the zoo it used to be.

Taronga Zoo Compared

Taronga planned to develop another large zoo to complement Sydney’s Taronga Zoo, were established in the 1960's. The new Zoo would have had, breeding programs, conservation programs, education programs and exhibits.

In 1967 Taronga started doing scientific research on animals to find out significant information about the animals they had.

Overall Taronga zoo has definitely improved over the years. The zoo has started things like breeding programs and educational programs. Visitors can spend time at the zoo and get information on how they can keep the environment clean and out of harms way. They can see the animals and learn the importance of their place in our world.

Taronga Zoo when it started

Taronga Zoo was officially opened on October 7th, 1916. The Zoo was made to show animals to the public in Sydney. The first exhibits to be built were the seal ponds, elephant temple, monkey pits, top entrance, aviaries, paths, roadways and the refreshment rooms. In total, 228 mammals, 552 birds and 64 reptiles were moved from Moore Park to Taronga. New exhibits and facilities were developed over time.

Taronga Zoo Now

Taronga Zoo now does a lot more than letting the public experience seeing real animals, but also wildlife conservation, science and research, environmental sustainability and taking positive actions. These actions can change the way the visitors treat the environment.
