Nutella is a transnational corporation because it gets its raw materials from all around the world.

Even though it is an italian company, and the headquarters are in Italy, there are 9 factories located in different countries and 5 different continents:

Nutella started advertising as something you can eat for breakfast as it is easy to prepare. That strategy worked, and soon Nutella became an international breakfast sensation. Through social media, Nutella has been able to reach people as something more than a breakfast snack, the company itself has become a global phenemom.

1. Raw materials are shipped to bradford in Canada by air carrier

2.Then ingredients are assembled by Ferrero inc. at the factory located in toronto canada

3.It is then shipped via semi-truck to Ferrero's private warehouse in new jersey

4.It is then distributed to 75 different countries around the world

France-Vanilla

Hazelnuts- Turkey

The company is the number one user of hazelnuts in the world, buying up 25% of the entire world production.

Vanilla extracted from the seeds of a flower called Orchids. The orchids come from, Mexico, Madagascar, Hong Kong, Indonesia and New Caledonia. However, the actual vanilla from the seeds is extracted and then exported from France

Cocoa- Nigeria

Palm Oil- Malaysia

Cocoa extracton from Africa is highly contrivesial due to the child workers being abused. However, Nutella gets it's essential cocoa powder that it needs for it's chocolae flavouring from Nigeria.

“We have to replant a lot of trees because there is massive deforestation that also leads to global warming. We should stop eating Nutella, for example, because it’s made with palm oil,” Royal said in an interview

Sugar-brazil

Brazil is the largest producer and exporter of sugar in the world. As of 2017, they account for 20% of the world's production of sugar cane, and supply Nutella the sweetening needed in their product.

Nutella affects culture by culture because in western culture it is far more popular than in Asia. This is due to the culture and traditions of the people living in these respective places. Culture has affected Nutella because it became so famous that spin-offs were made in a lot of countries.

History of nutella

- Invented by Pietro Ferrero right after World War 2 in 1946 in Alba, Italy

- There was a shortage of cocao supply following word war 2, Nutella was the solution for that problem.

- You could circle the world 1.8 times with the amount o nutella prodcuced every year

- Last year some 365 million kilos were consumed which is roughly the weight of the Empire State Building
