Learning An Extra Language

The brain is a network of pathways that has more than one hundred billion neurons. There are the three parts of the brain and the most important is the cerebrum because this is where memory and reasoning are. The most important things for learning are sight, hearing, touch, long term memory, short term memory, speech, and language.

Emotions strengthen memory. Everything we know in our brains is because of neurons and the connections between neurons. The brain usually weighs about three pounds. The brain has a thing called white matter which is made up of dendrites and axons. It also has gray matter which is made up of neurons.

Paula Deen

How The Brain Learns

I chose Paula Deen for my personal anecdote because she is very famous and I have seen her show before. Paula Deen's brain abnormality is Agoraphobia and Panic Attacks. This means she does'nt feel comfortable being in crowded spaces or enclosed public places. She has overcome this fear through cooking though. Cooking is how she became famous.

Time Is a Factor In Learning

The brain cannot learn new things instantly. It takes time for the brain to learn. For example, if new information is placed in front of you, you cannot read it and know it instantly. You have to take time and study it to learn it. This information was under the National Science Foundation.
