Dragon shard
Mistakes that can happen when writing a short horror film is that people can forget that you have to get straight to the point so that the story doesn't drag on longer then it's suppose to. Also they have to make the storyline have some sort of impact or it's not really a horror.
If you're not careful the short horror film will drag on and lose the effect of being short horror film. If the short horror film has no impact or doesn't contain a constant uneasy and tense anticipation til the end of the film.
By only including necessary dialogue you get straight to the point, silence can bring more fear then noise. The short horror film doesn't have to have a jump scare but a good build up filled with the anticipation can be all the more scary.
