Herod's slaughter of the innocents and the Holy Family's flight into egypt

After Jesus' birth, news reached King Herod that an new king had been born. This threatned Herod, therefore he ordered the execution of all young male children in the vicinity of Bethlehem. The Holy Family got news of this and quickly fled to Egypt. Their flight into Egypt is known as one of the seven sorrows of Mary. This shows that forces of evil were against Jesus right up to the beginning and their sucessful escape shows that God protected his only son right after his birth.
