What is an Alligator?
-Alligators are immense reptiles of the Crocodylia family
-Making crocodiles and alligators closely related.
-They're cold blooded creatures that rely on the environment for body heat.
Alligators are very important predators to the ecosystem. They are the largest reptile in America and serve as an important role in keeping the ecosystem balanced
If taken out the ecosystem in which they live in will become unbalanced. There will be a larger amount of prey because there will be no more to eat them which in turn will cause a shortage of vegetation and smaller animals.
- Their eyes and nostrills are on the top of their head so they can submerge
- There colors allow them to blend in to there habitat
- They have a powerful tail for swimming
