How to - Critique

1. Write it down - write down your feedback before offering it.

2. Be specific - be as detailed as possible about what is working and what could use some work.

3. Tie all feedback to the design goals - Good feedback is about how the design is meeting or missing the stake-holder's goals.

4. Suggestions, no mandates - offer up your ideas as ideas, not a rule.

Elements of Strong Sign Design

The following is a list of agreed upon best practices in designing signs (ie. layout for signs)

1. Scale:

The parts of the design must be understood from a distance. Are all images and text scaled to allow for that?

Elenents of Good Design

Is the sign placed in such a way that it can be easily seen?

2. Location:

3. Contrast:

Do the colors of the text, background, and images contrast in such a way that they can be easily seen?

Are the fonts working for or against the message of your sign?
