Course Requirments, Transportation and costs

  • Minimum grade range of 80 - 83%
  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with a minimum of six Grade 12 U or M courses
  • English/anglais (ENG4U/EAE4U preferred)
  • Chemistry (SCH4U)
  • Biology (SBI4U)
  • Completion of a Grade 12 U mathematics course, a Grade 12 U/M social sciences and humanities course, and a senior level family studies course is recommended

I will be using the TTC and the subway to get to the university and mabye when possible my dad can take me sometimes

Costs

The yearly costs for this program is $7,753 and since this program is a full time 4 year course the total cost will come to $31,012 plus the costs of the books and other essentials

In order to cover the costs I will attempt to get a part time job as well as apply for scholarships and take some support from my family.

Why is this choice right for me?

I belive that this choice is right for me because firstly, the univerity I want to go to is the closest one with my exact program of choice and secondly because I have realized that I have a deep interest on health and nutritiona and I would love to do something related to it in order to make a living .

Additional Schooling

I will apply for a 1 year Master's practicium program at Toronto Metropolitan University in order to obtain both advanced education and practical requiments to become a dietitan

Requirments

1. You must be eligible to study in Canada and have graduated from a Dietitians of Canada or Partnership for Dietetic Education and Practice (PDEP) accredited Canadian undergraduate nutrition program or an Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) accredited undergraduate program:

  • Within the past three years*
  • Applicants must have a minimum B average (3.0/4.33) in final two years of a PDEP or ACEND accredited undergraduate nutrition degree

*If you graduated from an accredited Canadian undergraduate program more than three years ago (from convocation date to application deadline), you must contact the College of Dietitians of Ontario to complete the Knowledge and Competency Assessment tool.

​2. This program is open to qualified applicants who wish to become registered dietitians. It is not open to individuals who are/have been dietitians in Canada.
