In 1933, A genocide occured during WWII, where Adolf Hitler and his collaboraters targeted 6 million European Jews.
They killed nearly 2 out of 3 European Jews.

What happened?
Germans believed they were the superior race, so Jews were considered as "dangerous". This resulted in Nazis gathering up Jews into concentration camps where they would put them in gas chambers.
What happened?
Josef Mengele, also known as "the angel of death" had preformed experiments on Jewish and Roma twins. These twins were referred as "mengele twins"

Hitler had come to power, and had adopted the Nurenburg laws that restricted the right of Jewish people. Also because of the depression on the Germans.
The country suffered a
depression after losing in WWI.
That's when Hitler came to
power and promised everyone
he would help.

United States view on the Holocaust
At the time of the Holocaust, the United States was going through a depression itself. The USA was only limited to so many refugees at the time. They accepted about 180,000-225,000 refugees, although they could've still accepted some more. The USA also had some racial prejudice towards the Jews.

Ghettos were made to seperate the Jews from the rest of the population.
The Nazis would raid the ghettos and if they would not cooperate, they would get shot.

This was where the Nazis would put all the Jews into a gas chamber. The jews were willing to go inside because they believed they were just taking a shower.
