We started out with the idea of our shoebox glider looking like a hawk (Even though it ended up looking nothing like a hawk.)
Wing length - 8 1/2 in
Wing Width - 7 1/2 in
Tail Length - 5 1/2 in
Tail Width - 16 in (1 ft 4 in)
Wingspan - 18 in (1 ft 6 in)
Aspect ratio - 16:17
Volume - 251 g
area - 123.5
The first time our glider failed, we extended our wings and tail so they would get more lift from the air.
First we knew that we needed bigger wings so we decided to extend our wings close to the edge of the box so the box could have more surface area of the wings.
Second we would decide to use pens and pencils to hold the wings up because we realized that our wings would try to fold up when it would try to glide, so this would result in the wings not catching the air and after we added the parts the wings wouldn't fold up or down
