Normal sinus rhythm

= There is a P wave for every QRS

Normal sinus rhythm

Rules

= Heart rate 60-100 No treatment needed and do not give any meds

  • Atrial Flutter= Saw tooth pattern, there is an abnormal p wave.
  • NURSING INTERVENTIONS FOR ATRIAL FLUTTER
  • CARDIOVERSION– treatment of choice for NCLEX!!!
  • Heparin- to reduce incidence of thrombus formation.

Ventricular Tachycardia- Wide QRS Complexes

  • Ask first if it is STABLE Or UNSTABLE
  • What is the difference?
  • Treatment: DIFIBRILLATION
  • Never pick EPIPNEPHRINE as a treatment for ventricular tachycardia because it stimulates the ventricles.

CARDIOVERSION

SHOCK that is synchronized, the shock is given at the peak of the QRS complex it avoids the T-wave.

CARDIOV-ERSION
