Who's in the Zoo?

What is it?

This personality assessment is among one of the more basic assessments. But it serves a good purpose:

- It provides a general overview.

- It groups personality in simple easy to understand categories.

- It is fun!

Let's talk about Types

The Types

Who's in the Zoo breaks down personality into 4 types.

-Beavers

-Lions

-Otters

-Retrievers

Lets take a look at two of them for now...

The Beaver

Beavers

Beavers are our methodical friends! They have a high desire to problem solve and want to get the job done right!

However, sometimes they are limited in their views and have a hard time being flexible.

*see the who's in the zoo pdf for more info.

Lions

In general, they are the type of people who are "up for the challenge." Lions tend to gravitate towards leadership roles and have the potential to be very good leaders.

However, lions can tend to be overly confrontational and not in tune with their feelings or the feelings of others.

The Types Con.

One advantage of this personality assessment is that there is room for overlap! if you scored within 3 points of two types you are most likely a dual type!

Example : I got 28 points for lion and 30 points for Retriever. That makes me a Retriever-Lion

Otters

Otter

Otters tend to be our higher energy, fun loving friends! They are often the life of the party and enjoy having many people around them.

However, Otters can sometimes lack follow through with commitments and tend to rush on to whatever the next big thing is.

Retriever

Retrievers tend to be some of our best and closest friends. They are relationship oriented and are very nurturing.

However, they tend to be pushovers and can feel frustrated when they aren't show recognition.

Summary

Remember, these assessments are not designed to know you to a 'T'. The purpose of assessments are to show you patterns that you may be overlooking.

Pros: Simple, quick, easy to understand.

Cons: only 4 categories, broad generalizations.
