Setting
This Story takes place in Sycramore.
The kids in the story all attend Sycramore Middle School which is where the meetings are held at for the P.A.G. club.
The mall is also a major setting in the story that had just been built and has caused conflict in the town.
Cameron Boxer
Cameron Boxer is the main character in Slacker. Cameron spent all the time that he could being unproductive and playing video games. He was a nobody at his school and hardly was ever at school which led to his parents making him join a club or sport.
Cameron decided to make a fake club called P.A.G (Positive Action Group). Everyone at the school including the faculty, loved the idea of the club he started and it started to become very popular. This was not a goal of Cameron's. He proceeded to barely show up to any of the meetings. He attended most of the events but that was it. He began to start realizing the impact that his club was making on the community and town. He began to realize that there is more to life than video games.
Main Character
Slacker by Gordon Korman is about a boy named Cameron Boxer who spends all of his time playing video games. His gaming became very ridiculous to the point where his house caught on fire because he left food in the oven for too long because he got sidetracked in his games. After his parents insist on him joining a club or a sport to get involved at school, he makes a fake club called the P.A.G (Positive Action Group). The club became very popular and began to impact the town and community in many ways. Soon after the club became popular and Cameron beame president, a mission began to save a beaver named Elvis from certain extinction. After that, the group of people in the P.A.G. decided to continue their good deeds. A new mall was built in the town and the town was planning on tearing down the main bridge and moving it closer to the mall. If this bridge were to be knocked down, many businesses including his families' would suffer. The group decided to stand on the bridge on a Saturday to stand their ground and have a voice. The group succeeded and the bridge was not torn down. The group also helped the elderly with their gardening.

In Slacker, Cameron comes from being a video gamer who has no impact on anything and no drive for anything, to being president of a club that impacted many lives in so many ways. It all started with him making a change and creating a stupid club. It took only a few moments and good deeds to open up his heart and change him for the good.

In Slacker, Cameron faces a huge struggle with isolation. Due to being isolated in his room with no contact or time spent with anything outside of his video games, Cameron became a person who was lazy and didnt care about much at all. This isolation led to his house getting burnt down due to distractions in his video games.
Reflection
I found this book to be very eye-opening. Cameron started out as a nobody who literally sat in his room isolated with just his video games. He became a leader, the president of the P.A.G and his club impacted so many lives in his community.
