As National Honor Society members, we exemplify what it means to be a high-achieving student at Cathedral High School. In addition, we strive to be the best role models we can be for our school community.
The National Honor Society recognizes high schoolers who meet high academic standards. The organization was founded in 1921. Today, over 1 million students participate in NHS, which has chapters around the world.
NHS emphasizes leadership and service. Members meet standards for character and draw on their leadership experience to contribute to the society.
The organization operates through chapters in local schools. The honor society reports that, on average, each chapter contributes 1,000 hours of community service. High schoolers can join NHS by meeting membership requirements. Which includes scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
National honor society members maintain a sense of familiarity with the rest of the school by constantly striving for more and more. Advocating for our group with service projects, community service, etc.
NHS members volunteer at Cathedral and in the community. Common service activities include peer tutoring, blood drives, public space cleanups, and community fundraisers.
NHS meets Bi-Weekly to discuss plans for the future. In these morning meetings, we gather as a group to congregate and reassess plans for the future. If you are invited to join us, we'll meet every Thursday morning before the school day begins.
