What is Senpai/Kohai?
Senpai & Kohai are informal hierarchical relationships found in Japan. The Senpai (senior) and Kohai (junior) relationship derives from Confucianism.
Senpai: Member of higher experience, hierarchy, level, age etc. who offers assistance or guidance to new/inexperienced members
Kohai: Often of younger level/age, shows gratitude, respect to the Senpai
Often friendship is established between the two.
