The Pitch
Your team will be pitching your documentary idea to our panel on Friday 22nd October at 9am.
You will be graded on this!
What makes a BAD pitch?!
Spend 15 minutes with your group looking at the brief.
Analyze the Grading Matrix
Make sure your research is ACCURATE!
PROOF READ several times - UK v US spelling
Spend time on props, outfits - BE BOLD!!
Make it visually pleasing - don't write large blocks of text.
Prepare CUE CARDS.
Practice where to stand and who will start
Decide who will take questions in each area.
Have a technical rehearsal beforehand (run through with equipment).
DO NOT BE LATE
Don't forget, it's NORMAL to be nervous - this is adrenaline which is GOOD!
Make sure you are well groomed and professional
Don't fiddle - take off lanyard if needed
Try not to move - plant your feet a shoulder width apart so you are grounded.
Take a couple of deep breaths through the nose, out through the mouth
Welcome your panel
Use your hands to express yourself
Don't turn round and read off the screen if possible
SMILE at the audience
Engage and capture their attention
Be ready for questions
Thank your panel, leave them on a positive note.

Please work on your pitch. Prepare your Presentation. Cue Cards. Outfits etc.
Book out a camera and tripod (or use tripod and mobile)
Film your pitch practice.
