Wrestling goes back to the prehistoric times about 15,000 years ago. But the first real traces of the development of wrestling date back to 5000 years ago, the Sumerian time.
Wrestling is a very physical commanding sport. It's very exhausting and hard sport. Getting ready for a match is tough, if your coach wants you to loose weight of gain weight for a certain match, you'll need to sacrifice a day or 2 to gain or loose weight. No matter how good your stamina or how strong you are or how good you are at physical sports, wrestling will beat you up. A wrestling match has 3 rounds and each round is 3 minutes long. Even though they seem short, you'll be very tired and "Out of It" by the 2 round. Long story short, wrestling is a hard sport to play.
When you wrestle, safety precautions are taken. For example, when in a match we have headgear to protect our heads from a lot of damage. We also have a Ref that is right there watching your match. If someone does an illegal move, which could hurt someone, the ref tells us that it is an illegal move and warns that person who did it. The next time someone does an illegal move in the same match, they get disqualified.
Wrestling has a lot of risks. When I used to wrestle, my friend broke his arm in the middle of his match! I messed up my knee while I was at practice. You could also hurt your head, neck, fingers, or any other body part while practicing or in a match. Wrestling is super fun but has a lot of risks involved.
