Message

Affirmed by Scripture (Matthew 26:63-64)

  • The prophet Isaiah prophesied about this event in Isaiah 53:7
  • The question reveals something about these men...it was a question of LOYALTY.
  • By the living God! Give us an oath!
  • Jesus was loyal to the heavenly father...to His reason for being on this earth.
  • How does this encourage you as a believer to remain loyal?

Denied by His Opponents (Matthew 26:65-68)

  • Caiaphas understood completely what Jesus was saying. Tearing his robe indicated his belief, anguish, and distress at hearing what he believed to be blasphemy.
  • The entire trial had been predetermined. Jesus did not fight back.
  • How is our spiritual condition revealed by our attitude and actions related to Jesus?
  • Jesus cursed the fig tree, why?
