Support Vs Class

Same code:

BBMS-schesser-pd?

Support is optional

Ask questions or get help

Recommended: Use this time to do your "homework" so you can ask questions about them

Attendance

  • Type Present when you first sign in
  • You need to be paying attention in class (no other screens open)
  • You need to respond in chat or with Microphone when asked a question

Microphone Etiquette

  • Keep the microphone muted when not speaking to reduce background noise.
  • Use the chat to ask questions while the teacher or another student is talking.
  • Use the “raise hand” to request the microphone to ask questions.

Meet = School

  • Do not bring up personal questions while in the lesson; ask the teacher to talk offline or after everyone has left the lesson.
  • Dress appropriately. You never know if you’ll need to get up suddenly or your camera falls off the monitor or if you accidentally turn on the camera.

Technical Difficulties

  • Signing out in the middle of class may happen if you need to restart
  • If you can't sign back in due to technical issues - send a canvas message asking what you missed.

Technical Difficulties

  • DON'T leave a frozen screen to "stay" in class.
  • Failing to respond to questions WILL lose Engagement Points

Camera and Mics

  • You can respond in chat or turn on your mic when you are called on.
  • You can leave your camera on or turn it off.
  • You may be asked to turn on a camera to see your artwork - you can hold it in front of your camera so that's all you see

Projects

Art Supplies

During this time of virtual learning students are highly encouraged to have crayons, markers, pencils, scissors and a pencil sharpener. Materials provided for pick up by the visual arts office include:

sketchbook, white drawing paper, construction paper, watercolor, brush and a sharpie. These materials are to be used for art assignments.

Students with a strong interest in art may want to invest in their materials for extra practice or personal use.

"Unconventional"

As we work through the quarter virtually, students may also need “unconventional” art supplies that are around their houses. This may include collecting things like junk mail or other recycled materials or photographing items that have been “set up.”

  • Sketchbook Assignments can be completed until the end of the unit when final artwork is submitted.
  • Artworks can be submitted in virtual learning for a week after the final due date. At this point assignments will be locked in canvas and discussions with teacher about making up work can be had over Canvas Message or in Meets.

Communication

  • If you have a question about an assignment or grade
  • You can post to the weekly discussion board
  • You can send a canvas message
  • You can come to support times
  • You need to look at assignment comments!
  • This is the way I can tell you to fix something so you get full credit!

How do you grade ART??

Fair Use in Art

  • Issues related to ownership of imagery, copyright law, and fair use will be addressed in class.
  • Work that makes use of photographs, published images, and/or other artist's works, must show substantial and significant development beyond duplication.
  • Copying the work of others can be seen as plagiarism, and unethical. It may violate copyright and fair use laws. Violation may possibly result loss of credit.
