He was born in 1264 in France and died in 1314. His birth name is Raymond Bertrand De Got.

He was elected in June 1305 and reigned for 9 years. His predecessor was Pope Benedict XI and his successor was Pope John XXII.

He did not write any encyclicals

Benedict V granted a lot of French men to become Cardinals. This made the next line of popes French.

King Phillip IV wanted to defeat the army called the Knights of Templar. Clement V approved his request to attack them.

Pope Clement V is best known for creating a document allowing prosecution against the Knights of Templar. He is remembered as being manipulated by King Phillip IV. He is not a saint and there are no prayers for him because people believed he wasn't loyal to the Catholic Church.
