is a term used to describe younger patients who soffer of Epidermolysis Bullosa because their skin is as fragile as a butterfly’s wings

What is EB?

Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) is a group of rare genetic skin conditions, which is characterised by extremely fragile skin and recurrent blister formation, resulting from mechanical friction or trauma.

  • the epidermis, the outermost layer of skin;
  • the dermis, contains connective tissue, hair follicles, and sweat glands
  • the hypodermis,the deeper subcutaneous tissue, is made of fat and connective tissue
