What makes her special or interesting?

At the young age of 17, she decided to become a nun and serve God for the rest of her life.

This meant possibly not being able to see your family again and not being able to marry or have children.

At age 18, she left her family to travel to Ireland and start the process of becoming a nun, she never saw them again.

She began teaching history and geography at Lorento Entally Convent and then moved to St Mary's and began teaching . After some time, she became principal, but after 9 years, she chose to leave and help the poor by living among them.

She had a huge effect on the world, being completely selfless and helping anyone who was less fortunate than she was by becoming one of them.

She not only helped children and helped them find a home. But she also opened Missionaries of Charity houses, houses for dying, orphanages, a Leprosy Fund and many more for helping the unfortunate,

When she passed away she left behind over 4,000 Missionary of Charity Sisters in 610 centers in 123 countries.

What adjectives would you use to describe her and what examples from her life illustrates those qualities?

Selfless-She devoted her life to helping the sick and poor and gave up everything to do so.

Dedicated- She continued to help the sick and poor, even when her health was deteriorating.

Committed-She gave up everything to become a nun and to help the sick and destitute.

What events shaped or changed her life? Did she overcome obstacles? Take risks? Get lucky?

At age 8, her father unexpectedly died, her and her family held even more tightly to their beliefs.

At age 12, she began to feel called to serve God and become a nun. At age 17 she finally made the decision to become a nun.

She decided to leave St. Mary's and help the poor by living amongst them.

The decision of becoming a nun is a very hard thing to make because you have to sacrifice so much.

As she began to rise to fame, criticism also came with it, many people believed that she was trying to convert them to Christianity rather than help them and some complained that the houses used to help the sick and dying were unsanitary and the people treating them were not properly trained.

Would the world be better or worse if she hadn't lived? How and Why?

I believe the world would be definitely worse if she hadn't lived. She is considered a world wide humanitarian, She has changed lives all over the world. Mother Theresa has touched hearts with all the selfless sacrifices she has made. She will be in history for centuries to come.
