Aim: To differentiate between saturated and unsaturated fats.

What are fats?

Well, they are nutrients in our food that give us energy (twice as compared to the energy that is given by carbohydrates)

Intake of fat in limited amount is important for our body.

  • Fats form a layer under the skin and keep our bodies warm.
  • Fatty tissue around kidneys, liver, eyes help to protect them from injury.
  • Fats can be obtained from both plants and animals.
  • Fats are of 2 types.
