Language Framework Planning

Strategy Steps

Identify language objective - identigy the language objectives of the lesson to be taught. Objectives should relate to the functions of language and the sentences patterns and structures to be pratical as part of the lesson

Ask two questions:

1. What are the language demandsof this particular lesson?

2. What are the language levels of the students

Asses and document students progress - plan a way to document students success in using language in the context of the lesson and ways to build on this lesson to give them additional practice.

Language Framework can be used for any grade level and in all curricular ares to support the language and content acuistions.

Add technology - use compter to create and print out games pieces or cards that the student can use to practice.

Identify and model problrmatic structures - identify the laguage structures that may give students problems and plan to model them in class. Keeping regular samples of students language, these can be extremly helpful when planing.
