- Social Criterion- Society must recognize you as a person

- Gradient Theory- Personhood comes in degrees, a person can have more or less

- Agency- the capacity to make choices, condition of personhood

What is freedom? Do you believe you have freedom? Well some beleive that you are not truly free and that free will is an illusion. This is called hard determinism which states that all actions are chosen before you make then. Soft determinism on the other hand believe that you have the ability to make decisions that can impact your life. While capatabilism which is a mix of both theories.
